Throwing cocktail at Sitakunda Awami League president's house

Miscreants threw several cocktails in front of Sitakunda Upazila Awami League president Abdullah Al Bakr's Bhuiyan house.

The incident happened in front of his own house in Golabaria area of Muradpur Union of Upazila on Monday (November 27) around 9:30 pm. The police rushed to the spot after receiving the information.

According to related sources, Abdullah Al Baker Bhuiyan, the president of Upazila Awami League and candidate for the 12th parliamentary election, did not get the party nomination, so many leaders and activists of the party came home to console him on Monday. At around 9:30 pm, a group of riotous youths with slogans exploded in front of his house causing panic and moved towards the village.

In this regard, Abdullah Al Baker Bhuiyan said, "When a group of riotous youths exploded a cocktail in front of my house due to political revenge, the leaders and activists at home became worried. Later I found out that those youths are supporters of a local council. I informed the police about all the incidents including the name of the councillor.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sitakunda Police Station Tofail Ahmed said, a group of overzealous youths have gone a little too far. We sent the police to the spot after a councilor complained that people had done this. Initially, the authenticity of the cocktail explosion was found.

He also said that this type of incident will not continue in this area. Those who do these things should be paid the due price. Moreover, action will be taken regarding the attack.
